The Homestead | Summer Wedding in Sun Valley

>> christine marie photo | sun valley wedding photographer

Oh my goodness, I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding. First off sorry-not-sorry for the photo overload!!! I first met Axe & O a year ago when we did their engagement photos in Stanley and as we were driving up there it was pouring rain, anyway can see the full blog post HERE for the full story! Alexander and Olivia are two of the most well loved and adored people I think I have ever met. When you meet them, you want to be their friend and that was very evident at their Homestead Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho.

The Homestead is a very special place to these two as it is Olivia’s family home here in Sun Valley. They have built many memories coming back and forth between here and California so it was pretty apparent to them when they became engaged that they wanted to be married at The Homestead.

Alexander and Olivia’s wedding started off Thursday with a welcome 4th of July BBQ, lawn games and yummy food followed by dinner with catering by The Haven. Friday was spent rafting the Big Wood River and the most gorgeous Rehearsal dinner set in the middle of and aspen tree forest with catering by The Town Square Tavern.

Their wedding started with the boys going skeet shooting while the girls spent the morning getting ready in the main house making signs and lots of DIY’s that Olivia and her mom designed for the wedding. Olivia’s best friend did her makeup and it was oh so sweet watching her little nieces sit around and watch her! Their first look was on a beautiful bridge below the house, after that we spent some time taking photos of them, their bridal party and families! Their ceremony was held in the backyard of The Homestead and the rest of the evening was spent sipping yummy cocktails, heartfelt speeches, a sunset photoshoot and LOADS of dancing! At the end of the night, after they ran through the sparkler exit, Olivia’s brother surprised them with fireworks, it was the best ending to a GORGEOUS wedding!

Alexander + Olivia - it was an honor being your photographer and spending 3 days with you and your families. Getting to know you and capturing these precious moments that your kids and grandkids will see one day…enriches my life so much! THANK YOU!

Where to even begin??? Words cannot express my deep, deep, sincere gratitude to you for being the absolute most wonderful human a girl could ever dream to spend the majority of her wedding day with :)You went above and beyond and spent countless hours on your feet, working tirelessly to get the perfect shots. You gave up time with your family on holidays, and I’m sure many other fun things to be with us during all of these events. I cannot tell you how many people came up to me to say what a gem you were- your energy was such a positive and calm influence to the chaos of the day. You made Alexander and I feel so comfortable when sharing the most intimate of moments with us. I seriously could write pages and pages about how truly grateful I am that you were there for the most important weekend of our life. You put up with me for three days straight and never once batted an eye at my photo crazed requests. Thank you does not seem like a big enough word but please just know how happy and beyond grateful we are for you!
