I’m not even really sure where to begin with this wedding. There are so many things I want to talk about and yet it’s so hard for me to put into words just how special this destination wedding in Sigtuna was.
When I started my photography journey I had no idea the places it would take me or the people I would meet that would also become my friends. Photographing a wedding in Europe let alone in one of Sweden’s oldest and possibly most beautiful towns, Sigtuna, will forever be in my top ten of things I have done. The country is so beautiful and lush with lakes and islands lasting forever.
Erika and Mike live and met in Alaska but Erika’s Swedish roots took them back to her home to make official their love for each other with their closest family and friends.
Their wedding day started off with breakfast at the Stads Hotell- which by the way, trumps any hotel breakfast you have ever had. They had their first look in front of the hotel while the girls getting ready watched from the windows above. From there we made our way to St. Olaf’s; one of the oldest church ruins in Sweden for some fun pictures with everyone and shortly after that, Erika and Mike were married on a wooden dock on the river in front of the Stad’s Hotell with all their loved ones gathered around them.
The day ended with the most epic dance party, hot dogs and a late night lake jump!
